Getting paid.

What happens between a reader buying your book and the money reaching your account — including the part most platforms leave vague.

Your share is written the moment the sale completes — it is just not payable yet. The wait is the refund window, and it is why a refund can never reach you after the money has arrived.

MotusPage does this
If the reader asks for their money back

You have no button here — that is the point. Nothing on this screen is a step you take. Your only task is adding your bank details in Profile, once; after that a sale moves through this on its own.

01

Why there is a wait at all

A sale sits inside the refund window for 5 days before it can be paid out. That is the whole reason for the delay: money that has already left for your bank cannot be pulled back if the buyer is refunded, so the wait is what keeps a refund from becoming something you owe. Your share is recorded on day zero either way — it is payable later, not earned later.

02

Wednesday

Eligible earnings are gathered every Wednesday and sent as a bank transfer to the account on your profile. Wednesday rather than Friday on purpose: a transfer that goes wrong on a Friday cannot be fixed until Monday, and a payment that arrives reliably is worth more than one that arrives two days sooner and sometimes not at all. If your balance is under 5000 ֏ it waits for the following Wednesday — unless it has been sitting for 12 months, in which case it goes out regardless.

03

Nothing is estimated against a list price

Your share is a clean 80% of what the buyer actually paid — so a discount code reduces both halves, and a commission is never charged on a price nobody paid. The card processing fee comes out of our 20%, not your 80%.

04

A small minimum, and no fee

There is no monthly charge and nothing deducted for the transfer itself. There is a minimum: below 5000 ֏ the balance waits for the following Wednesday, because a transfer worth less than its own cost helps nobody. It is overridden twice — you are paid after 12 months whatever the balance, and again when you close your account.

05

A refund can never reach you

A sale can only be refunded while the money is still with us, which is what the wait is for. Once the transfer has gone the sale is final — a refund cannot follow it to your account, and you are never asked to send anything back.

Before your first payout

Add the account name and account number you want to be paid into, under Profile in your dashboard. Until those are filled in there is nowhere to send anything, and your earnings simply keep accruing.

How selling works

Price a book and see for yourself.

A Free creator can price a book today and be paid for it. Plans buy storage and the creator tools, not the right to earn.
